For audible signals outside the UK have a listen around 505.200KHz for west European beacons. The signal from the fixed 1metre loop hammered on the back fence looking North South was slightly worse than the 8" ferrite rod mounted in an ice cream box on a post 1m high and looking 20 degrees West of North. I would welcome any views on wire loops v ferrite rods on the 600m band? Hi Everyone

Just finished a top band natter last night at 2015=20= UTC when I heard WI4DPE beacon rst 539 on approx. 501.5kHz.  Must tell some= one as it is first time I have heard anyone on this band outside the UK, so my experimental loop aerials can't be all bad.   The signal from the fixed 1metre loop hammered on the back fence looking North South was slightly worse than the 8" ferrite rod mounted in an ice cream box on a post 1m high and looking 20 degrees West of North.   I would welcome any views on wire loops v ferrite rods on the 600m band?<= /span>
