Mal, I just tried to check YOUR grabber, to see what a professional MF station reception was like. Strangely I saw NO SIGNALS WHATSOVER! In fact I don't think you have made any effort in this area! You seem not to have dedicated any of your equipment, time, energy, skills or internet bandwidth for the help or assistance of other stations on 500kHz, have you? In fact quite the reverse. You've done little except denigrate, belittle, insulte and bemoan. Until you're prepared to show us how it should be done I suggest you refrain from commenting on the shortcomings, as you see them, of other peoples' efforts. Time to put up, or shut up Mal. We want to see what your grabber looks like. First steps, just to show you're not a compete dead loss, an easy target: A simple grabber, with a scrolling speed suitable to read 15wpm CW (one of your previous complaints against other grabbers, not fast enough to read the CW), web updates regularly enough to accomodate this scrolling speed, and to not miss anything, an archive of EVERY SINGLE capture taken, accessible online, so we can all look back over any period of interest. Must be on line 24 hours a day, with no interruptions. Extra credit available :- Perhaps 2 different bandwidths, one to give an overview of the general situation over the whole band, and another, showing a "weak signal watering hole" with narrower filtering, better S/N ratio. Perhaps you could also arrange for your receiver audio to be made available over the net, via streaming MP3, to assist in qualitative assesment of signal strength, readability etc. I know of at least 2 active list members who do this already. Logging-in details are sent by invite only of course. What, you mean you've not been invited by any of them? You do surprise me! I wonder why that might be? Come on, get on with it. Show us just how good you really are. John
