Alternatively- use the exciter as is (it wont quite stretch to 500 kHz out - directly) and another xtal to mix it onto 500 kHz-that way you get to use all the exciter capabilities at 500 kHz without having to think about the effect of doubling everything. And since the exciter can operate anywhere from DC to 300 KHz or so you have a wide choice of mixing xtal frequencies. 73 Dave, ZL3FJ ----- Original Message ----- From: "Alan Melia" To: Sent: Thursday, July 24, 2008 9:05 AM Subject: LF: Re: Looking for 500 Khz xtal unit , any freq , inside 501 504 Khz , > Hi Graham 500khz crystals are quite difficult to make and certainly > you > wount fine one in a smaller package than HC6/U as far as I remember. > There > are some 10X series rocks that were used in one of the frequency > calibrators > (No 10 I think) They will need chasing up a little with some > "scouring > powder".
