In the UK military, the navy specify carrier frequency, the army, the centre of the SSB bandwidth (or it might be the other way round), and the airforce I'm not sure. Anyway, there is 1800Hz difference between some different branches, and it has caused communications problems. NATO may be slightly different again. Then there is the 1500Hz offset used for WSPR, the 5MHz channels and the spec for tuning GB3VHF and GB3RAL. Madness ;-) -- Andy G4JNT www.scrbg.org/g4jnt
