A 100 m long untermintated wire on the ground is already an excellent antenna from 250 kHz and up. This antenna is unidirectional. I have been testing some real barbed wire fences of 1500 metre long, which showed a very narrow beamwidth in one direction. If you have the opportunity, there are many usuable fences out there which can be put to good use as a reception antenna. You might be in for a nice surprise. As these antenna don't work as normal antennas, the modelling programs won't work at all. Study of the beverage type of antenna will make this clear.
