This is the sort of thing I wondered about. Up to 18:36 the 5W / 20mw ERP signal was readable but dropping another 7dB and it was below the noise floor. I wonder how many dB margin there is at 5W before the signal becomes unreadable? I'll try upping by 3dB at 19:45 to 2W. Then another 3dB or so at 20:00 Thanks for listening all, Regards, John On Mon, 5 Nov 2007 19:00:40 -0000 "James Moritz" wrote: > Dear John, LF Group, > > Up to 1836utc you were getting up to a reasonably readable s3 level > on the peaks of the fades - now you are down to a faint line on the > spectrogram display. > > Cheers, Jim Moritz > 73 de M0BMU > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "John Pumford-Green GM4SLV" > To: > Sent: Monday, November 05, 2007 6:37 PM > Subject: Re: LF: QRP Beacon 501.5 > > > > On Mon, 5 Nov 2007 18:29:00 +0000 > > "Chris McCarthy" wrote: > > > > > Hello John, > > > at 18:27 peaking 5 4 9 > > > Chris > > > G3XVL (Ipswich, JO02NB) > > > > > > > > > > > > Thanks Chris and Dave. > > > > Now at 18:36 down to 1W and approx 5mW ERP > > > > Cheers, > > > > John > > > > > > -- John GM4SLV IP90gg Clousta, Shetland
