Well said Alan,

I was very pleased to see three test signals running over here in the
West yesterday, my experiments with a short AE were greatly enhanced by
the fact there was some activity on an otherwise barren 501 - 504
spectrum.  I know for a fact that there are other stations in the West
who would like to see more test signal activity within this allocation,
it is most useful during the daytime (I don't do night watches anymore).
We rely very much on GW3UEP and GW4HXO for these daytime signals for
test purposes. If you have a decent receiver then a multitude of signals
in close proximity to each other is not a problem.

The allocation 501 - 504 kHz is for experimentation not for DXCC or
weekend contest working, but there seems to be a small group of
unprofessional people on this reflector behaving rather like small boys
and trying to lay down totally unnecessary rules.  I understand they
killed a lot of interest in 136kHz by this sort of nonsense.  To them I
would say "Mummy's calling ....go home and play with your train sets". 
(With apologies to any serious railway enthusiasts).
