He is in fact building a small active receiving loop so should improve his RX capabilities. This seems a most strange band. Jim and I have QTH's which are quite close yet he gives G3AQC better reports than I do and I receive G4GDR better than he does - odd ! 73 Chris G3XIZ Dave Sergeant wrote: On 30 Jun 2007 at 23:36, CHRISTOPHER OSBORN wrote: > Please keep an ear open for Adrian G4GDR, Swindon. > He's crystal controlled around 502 kHz and calls CQ for ages without > getting many replies. > > Several stations QSO'd over the top of him today, neither side hearing > the other. I have also many times heard others having QSOs on top of him (G3VTT and G3XAQ were having a ragchew on top last night). Adrian is a good 589 signal here. Maybe he also needs to look at his receiver, as do some others. It also shows the pitfalls of being crystal controlled on a narrow band. 73 Dave G3YMC http://www.davesergeant.com --------------------------------- To help you stay safe and secure online, we've developed the all new Yahoo! I have given Adrian calls in the past and he has obviously not heard

also shows the pitfalls of being crystal controlled on a narrow band.
