Let us assume that an official from Ofcom has decided to see how their Experimental Permit users are getting along, and subscribes to the Group. What does he hear today but a lot of moaning about not being able to operate if there are more than two signals in the 4khz allocation and suggestion of limiting it to manual morse (Note QRSS is "CW" !) Where he thinks are all those innovative people who were going to people this allocation with novel techniques for using the low power allowed and coexisting in the narrow allocation. As a professional in the field where manual morse has beed phased out he may be forgiven for thinking that there is no experimentation going on and that there will be no need to extend the permit when it lapses next year. Anyway if the operatiors have no use for a 4khz chunk then what point is there in considering an allocation here are there are no larger slots available?. Yes they dont think like amateurs in the "corridors of power" One final question why did it matter that it sounded like bedlam in this country today? I though everyone was trying to see whether there signal could be heard in Spain, not in the UK. I havent seen any complaint from Jose-Manual yet ! I think some awareness of the nature of this reflector needs to be taken into account, before you let out all your histrionics. You could be sinking a awfull lot of work by several people to get this allocation at all.....dont mess it up ! Cheers de Alan G3NYK
