Very envious of your quiet location.... Unless anyone else has some different views, can I suggest that we call the matter closed, for now. The key issue is when we can usefully approach Ofcom and the extent to which they will be prepared to react to our request. There will also be the issue of timing, if an increase is agreed. 73 John, G3WKL Gw3UEP wrote : > Sent previously but not > reflected... >   > With a quiet/noise-free Rx site > [West-Wales], day-time cw sigs from Kent are detectable or at > MDS. >   > A 1W ERP limit would allow daytime E-W > [coast-coast/300mls] qso's, with quiet Rx sites. >   > A 4W ERP limit would allow daytime N-S > [coast-coast/600mls] qso's, with quiet Rx sites. >   > Since most stations have significant noise-levels, > these ERP values would still be too low for general inter-GB day-time > use. > However, a x10 increase would be a realistic > start. >   > I've been enjoying regular day-time qso's with GI4DPE at  250mls > range, over a mixed land/sea/land path, with steady/repeatable s/meter readings, > ideal for ant/tx experiments [both quiet sites].  > So far, this has not been possible to the east over a land path with > noise-limited stn's. >   > 73, > Rog/Gw3UEP.
