You were absolutely Q5 and solid copy. I heard you calling CQ later and were just as strong if not stronger. Yes I know my VFO isn't too good and am looking into it even as we speak. I'd appreciate that recording. 73 Chris XIZ Dave Sergeant wrote: On 29 May 2007 at 21:05, CHRISTOPHER OSBORN wrote: > If I wanted to be pedantic then presumably we should ensure that we > measure no more than 25 mW ERP to allow for the worst case uncertainty > (tongue in cheek!) I think I am safe with my 3mW erp.... at least it reaches Biggleswade. Incidentally after we worked yesterday Dave G3WCB sent me a wav recording of the QSO and an Argo screen shot. Our signals sounded very similar with him and it was nice to listen to my keying at a distance. As Dave commented to me the Argo shot shows that my VXO tx is stable apart from a very slow, hardly visible, drift. Your TX has a noticeable downward drift of around 5Hz at the start of each over. I think you use a VFO? I can send you these (converted to a .mp3 and much smaller) if you are interested Chris. 73 Dave G3YMC http://www.davesergeant.com --------------------------------- Yahoo! I think I am safe with my 3mW erp.... at least it reaches
Biggleswade.

Incidentally after we worked yesterday Dave G3WCB sent me a wav
recording of the QSO and an Argo screen shot. Our signals sounded
very similar with him and it was nice to listen to my keying at a
distance. As Dave commented to me the Argo shot shows that my VXO tx
