Yes the bulb is lit to full brilliance, the operation FT-747GX doesn't appear to have been effected. LF RF is being picked up on the HF antenna. 73 Gary - G4WGT. -----Original Message----- From: owner-rsgb_lf_group@blacksheep.org [mailto:owner-rsgb_lf_group@blacksheep.org]On Behalf Of J. Allen Sent: 11 September 2006 05:38 To: LF (RSGB); LowFER at LW Cafe Subject: LF: Strange detector Haloo Group, I wonder how many here have similar oddities to share.... Another part of my hobby is contesting... I have a RAT PAK remote antenna switch which mounts on the tower which is used for LF. The RAT PAK although not in use on LF has a set of six LEDs to indicate which antenna has been selected in the shack during HF operation. This is where the odd indication comes in. Whenever the LF transmitter keys, all six LEDs glow softly and the brilliance of the LEDs increase with the power level. It makes a nice indicator that the beacon is working and putting out reasonable power. The first time I keyed down with more than 50 watts, it was quite a surprise. 150 Watts glow at what looks like 1/10 of brilliance. Now lets calculate... if 400 watts turns out to really be 1 W ierp here, full brilliance would mean how many dB above legal limit? :o) J.
