Hi,

years ago I heard the story about the = wife of a ham=20 who had a christmas tree on the balcony. This was one of the first = christmas=20 trees with electric light bulbs, all put in series so that when you = rotate one=20 to turn it off all others are switched off, too.

You can imagine how surprised this = woman was when=20 she rotated one bulb to switch off all the lights -- and suddenly some = of the=20 lights went off, others stayed on. Well, she rotated one of the ones = that were=20 on ... and at the other side ot the christmas tree some other bulbs = started to=20 lit.

Well, for us hams the solution is = simple: her=20 husband operated AM on 2 meters and by disconencting some of the light = bulbs=20 from the series circuit a dipole antenna for 144 MHz with a different = light bulb=20 was created. Rotating this one and disconnecting it, another dipole was = created=20 and so forth ...
