Hi JB,
Sounds like poly fish tank air tubing. That should be easy to find and inexpensive. I am sure it will increase the resistance to arcing quite a bit. Certainly cheep insurance against damaging the transformer cores. Thanks for the info. I'll use that tubing on my transformer to be safe.

I'm not sure what it is, but poly would seem a logical likely material.
I like the idea of vaseline that someone suggested, and I'll have to
give that a try with the teflon insulated wire inside the tube.  Oops,
almost forgot to say that the tubing is clear.
