It is interesting to note that I  sent the same original e-mail to another e-mail list from which I have had no replies. You are to be congratulated on your willingness to support others on this list.  When ever I am talking to people [in the day job] about communities of practice in education I use this list as an example of the value of e-mail groups. My conclusion to the antenna  is to experiment with a number of development steps with ferrites while recognising that effort put into an airspaced loop would yield better results. However the reduced complexity and easier control of direction of ferrite makes it  an interesting alternative. If I have time in the summer I am considering digging up parts of the patio and lawn to get some coax and some other cables to the bottom of the garden. Then see if I can get planning permission ( local from "Her in doors" )then I think a decent sized multi turn loop would be the next stage. regards peter G8AFN -------------------------------------------------------------------- mail2web - Check your email from the web at http://mail2web.com/ .
