Have you any idea how large this copper cylinder was? I have build an electric field antenna from a Hammond diecast box, 1590LB, measuring 50 x 50 x 30 mm. The buffer amplifier was mounted inside the box. An isolated BNC connector kept the box floating from the cable shield. This box was large enough to provide excellent signal levels.
