You can parallel them at the feed, at the end or have them as a meander wire. The increase in capacity seems to be the same Though 50cm spacing is a little close and you will not get full advantage at so close a spacing. The recommended was given as 70cms to 1m spacing. Each extra metre should give you an extra 5 to 6pF of capacitance.
