Betreff: LF: RE: DI2AG

Dear Walter, LF Group,

Rather belatedly a report on DI2AG – quite a good signal here since 1st January, best after dark but sometimes also visible during the day. The SNR on the spectrogram reaches as much as 30dB in a 0.3Hz bandwidth. Sometimes during the night, the CW ID is audible over the “FW” beacon about 50Hz down the band. Like others, I also see rapid QSB here, more like HF than LF.

The screen shot was obtained using an RA1792 RX with a 3m x 3m tuned loop – this set-up is not ideal, I can hear a considerable amount of intermodulation splatter from the nearby MF broadcast stations, and I am not sure yet if this is the fault of the receiving system, or an external “rusty bolt” effect.

Cheers, Jim Moritz
