I need to get my calculator out but at 3 miles the "no CW detectable signal" null is about 150 metres wide - very deep consider the physical offsets of the 2 parallel loops used here. This weekend I was in Arkansas around 180 miles from East of XDW and definite "fast" fades, periods were seen of around 30 secs (presumably between the ground and sky waves) this was around 9pm CST - Ive not seen this before and probably another manifestation of the recovery phase after the storm? This distance seems too close?
