Hi

I got to the conclusion that the coupling loops should have an area of 1/100's the tuned loop.
Note that some suggest using tuning capacitor for the loop. My loop tuning is so sharp - it is 25dB variation from 136-138.8kHz, so the only way out is to use varicap tuning

Hi Bryan,

I also used a loop with a second loop inside, then i receive very well a submarine transmitter very close...
The mutual coupling between the low Z pick up loop and the "RX" loop elarge the BW...They are no miracle!
Maybe the loop # 142857 will be perfect, wait and see!  :-))

Merci,
I wonder why you don't use the commonplace  (for higher frequencies ) small  loop inside the bigger one for impedance transformation and variable coupling?. Notice I am learning from others' mistakes before making my own loop  :-))
