At the end joining the vertical, the total width was about 1.5m and it is now 1.9m. At the far end it is unchanged at 2m. This increased the capacitance, and decreased the size of the loading coil. See the following web page for a picture of the general arrangement: http://www.lf.thersgb.net/antenna.htm I also reduced some stray capacitances at ground level, made the ATU construction less messy and improved the toroidal matching.
