Hi Jim & LF,

I am using a core from a VGA computer monitor scanning coil yoke for the core in my LF antenna matching transformer wound with 2.5 mm mains wire with 10 turns primary & 20 turns secondary  (tapped every other turn from turn 10), for matching to the loading coil & antenna & seems to work ok .

Dear Dick, LF Group,

Thinking of cheap sources of ferrite, I have used the cores from old computer monitor line output transformers for some time for supression purposes - but the type of ferrite they are made from is very similar to the 3C8/3C85/3C90 grades often used on LF PA circuits.

Cheers, Jim Moritz
