The 850 is also fine without a P/amp but needs the CW filters for the required selectivity plus an external DSP unit for added selectivity. Most modern Receivers are suitable with a few add on extras. I have tried various and all work well but some have advantages over others. I find the antenna makes a big difference as regards sensitivity. Install the bigest antenna possible.
