The sensitivity differences pronounced in specs between the units aren't really applicable/meaningful here on 137Khz given the noise level, but the 870 Noise blanking really does eliminate lines both aurally and visually. Given that on 137Khz Loran spillover peaks S9+ in 100Hz b/w Ive found, like others, I run with better results without AGC, the 870 delving into the noise "better"...... and I dont hear the clatter of Loran either! Is "better" an allowed technical term? A moose got the better of my KLM LPA 8 cm diam boom which was sitting at the 8ft level - He decided to have a pushing match, won, snapped it in two and then trampled on it......obviously not a KLM fan. Have a great weekend Laurence KL1X Anchorage., http://www.kl1x.com
