I noted that a number of colleagues in the group also received the bug and that they eventualy succeeded in expunging it. I have not been so succesful. I twice swept the whole system with a four year old version of Norton Antivirus to no avail, so last Saturday I bought a 2003 version of Norton and twice swept the whole system with that. Alas the bug is still there and pops up on all programs after a variable interval, sometimes immediately after start-up but on other occasions it may delay for up to one hour. A message appears on the screen: Write fault error writing device AUX Abort,Retry, Ignore, Fail. I have to crash the computer and start all over again. I dare not use it for e-mails and that is why I have retrieved my old faithful Mac to send this cry for help. Please forgive me for addressing this to the whole LF group but I sincerely hope that some of you may help an 80 year old timer who has no time for ham radio whilst his days are spent trying to suppress this bug! - I hate digital computers but they can be useful! 73, Roger, G2AJV.
