Tnx for the shot Jose, I think I have found out why the signal skidded so much and have taken steps to deal with that particular problem, also recalibrated completely. The IC706 is running continuously while these tests are going on and should have been pretty stable but in fact the power output had crept too low to maintain reliable frequency division.
