The path, dependant of where the Au Oval is spends a lot of time/distance meandering in this zone on its way to you. I laugh when I see "no storms/normal" conditions on some of the prop report pages. If I see a PCA attenuation of >0.1dB on the IPS web pages I get my skiis out. Given this years weird weather/stratwarms I might as well get the golf clubs out here in Alaska. As its near 41F this morning and the snow has gone Im spending more time sitting in the shack listening to various forms and colors of noise.. I hate protons, especially the energetic types. Its going to be interesting when we get a 10MeV event, Im wondering if the Au Oval will be pulled so far south that even though the signal will be hit by greater PCA attenuation that because of the near right "angle" which signals propagate across the Au zone that signals may be better? I think I may have seen such whilst doing research in Northern VE8 back on March 13 1989....or was it 86 The German 77Khz is being similarly hit here, but W/E paths to Japan and Oz seem less affected.
