Just a thought, but when I first started using Spectran a similar problem arose with my laptop. There was a conflict with the laptop being in the 'go-to-less power consumption' mode after so many minutes of no keyboard/mouse activity; perhaps there is something similar happening there...or maybe a 'screen-saver' conflict, especially if it is crashing after 10 minutes of no apparent activity from the keyboard?
