Oggetto: LF: LF beacon from North Italy.

Hallo to all,

i inform all the LF comunity that is now on the air a beacon located here in North Italy, few kilometers west of Garda Lake, at the top of a mountain, 980 meters above sea level.
The frequency is 135.800 Hz obtained dividing a 11 Mhz xtal for 81 with an HEF Philips divider, the power is now 40 w, to a quasi vertical wire slooping down from the top of a tower long 60 meters.
The message is 4 times "IK2DED/B LF BEACON JN55IO" at 10 WPM, then "IK2DED JN55IO" in qrss3 at 40 W, then in qrss3 the same message at 4 W, and then the same message at 0.4 W.
The 3 differente power level will be implemented the next week, and the locator on the PIC will be changed in JN55FO.
The beacon is on air in this season for check what may happen with tunderstorm and lightning.
The next improvement will be add at the actual qrss 3, the Jason mode with 3 different power output level, and to connect it at a standard rubidium source.
Hope to help someone from South Europe to came here with us in LF!!
Any reports are welcome.

73 and see you on the band this winter season.

IK2DED Giulio Scaroni.
