This could be the final Litz installment for me - for a while anyway. As I said yesterday I installed all 8 lugs on the four parallel #12 Litz wires. Last night I found the DC measurement on two of the wires was about twice reading on the other two. This was a concern because it could have meant some damage to these wires occured at the sharp bend of the cable over a tree limb 50ft up. I re-flowed the solder on the four lugs and low and behold the resistance of all fours wires measured equal! I'm pleased with the 0.40ohm AC resistance for the 50/50 loop (including .22ohms of soil loss). Not sure if it was worth some 15 hours of construction time build this cable, just to get out another db or so, but a flexible low loss cable was needed to allow a more thorough evaluation of soil loss (The Cu pipe is slightly lower in Rac but too ridged for these tests). I had to wrap electrical tape over the 4 wires, plus 4 spacer cords, to hold it all to a 200ft long 3/8" polyethylene tube. 500ft of tape was required!
