As the Tx has three units, and two are still working, I was able to compare good with bad. This resulted in finding two faulty transistors, one open circuit and one short circuit. Amazingly, the unit still gives 100W or so output. Obviously the burnt component (which I now know to be a MOV) failed at the same time. Thanks to Derek, G3GRO, and the Crawley Club, I should have replacements soon. In the meantime, the other two units are giving me a few hundred watts.
