Fortunately G3KEV and G6RO have been doing sterling work keeping the band alive today. The break is unfortunately timed as I was hoping to correlate the signal strength from SXV over the next few days, with the changes wrought by the CME impact on Friday ( which drove the Kp index up to 7 ). Friday's event was a relatively isolated one in what has been a strangely quiet summer for this point of a solar cycle. Earlier in the year the geomagnetic events were running into one another, making it difficult to decide which particular event was affecting the conditions. Plots will be posted to Rik again for mounting on his web site as soon as SXV returns. www.qsl.net/on7yd Cheers de Alan G3NYK Alan.Melia@btinternet.com
