I was playing about with the settings looking for suitable sets of frequency span / pixel intervals for Argo, and decided to leave it going at high power as conditions seemed quiet on the band. It looks as if Argo on 3s dots is best suited for 20Hz span 0.15s pixel interval. On the 10s dot setting 5Hz span and 0.7s pixels look about right. Didn't try any slower modes as I didn't want to spend the whole evening playing with it ! Haven't implemented the semaphore font yet.
