Back in the early days of the 73kHz band - 1997 - I made the first GW/GW crossband between my 73k portable station and the 430MHz station of my elder son, Paul 2E1DBI a few km away. I also heard G3LDO on 73k whilst portable but the return half of the QSO had to be made on a cellphone!. I believe that I am the only person to have transmitted on 73 from GW. During the week between Easter and May Day I will be operating on 73k from West Wales, using 200W and a kite antenna. Full details to follow. I look forward to having the first 73/136k GW/GW crossband with you Steve. Mike, G3XDV (IO91VT) http://www.dennison.demon.co.uk/activity.htm
