It was thought justified to include measured values also as best estimate for "Indicated Field strength". The use of receiver input level in relative units "dBmW" in earlier reports is based on following: 1. R&S ESH2 is a genuine Measuring receiver with 50 ohm input. I understand it is the quality that costs, its original price was abt 25 kilobucks. 2 calibrated loops (HFH2-Z2) + 1 rod (HFH2-Z1) are available for measurements and calibrations. 2. Due to ITU and EBU requirements we are engaged to use relative unit dB(mW), after some problems with our customers we have adopted "dBmW" instead of normal "dBm". In fact ITU regularly uses "dBW". Is the use of "dBu" based on some agreements? de Vaino, OH2LX ----------------------------------------------------- Special Report, G3WSC Puckeridge ¤ 15-16 April 2000 ---------------- 16 April 2000 ---------------------- UTC-/Rx-dBmW/--Indicated Field strength dB(uV/m)----> -----<-G3WSC bcn-->---128.2---128.9---135.8---138.8-- 0425 -128 -> -1 -4 +20 +3 +38 0445 -129 -> -2 -4 +11 +2 +38 0455 -128 -> -1 -3 +17 +2 +38 0500 -128 -> -1 -3 +20 +1 +38 0510 -128 -> -1 -3 +25 +1 +39 0520 -127 -> -0 -3 +29 +4 +40 0530 -127 -> +0 -4 +32 +5 +41 0540 -127 -> -0 -5 +32 +6 +41 0550 -127 -> -0 -5 +33 +7 +40 ----------------------------------------------------- G3WSC beacon closed at 0552 UTC, frequency 137.7 kHz ---------------- 15 April 2000 ---------------------- UTC-/Rx-dBmW/--Indicated Field strength dB(uV/m)----> -----<---G3WSC---->---128.2---128.9---135.8---138.8-- 1945 -116 -> +11 +10 +47 +16 +49 2005 -112 -> +15 +3 +47 +17 +49 ----------------------------------------------------- G3WSC was tuning (?), The Field strength given for it is a rough average, the frequency was 137.1+ kHz.
