This is obviously a later book than the edition of Radio Engineering I have. It cites a 1949 microwave measurements book. I am spoilt for choice of projects now, now with Dick's nice article and now your gen! I have made an improvement to my loop by doing away with the coax tap, and using a JFET amp folowed by a BJT emitter follower to drive the coax. This seems to have made between 6 and 9 dB improvement. Don't hesitate to ask if I can return the favour. 73 de Alan G3NYK
