Turn to NE (ish) switch on signal generator and frequency counter and adjust to 71.85kHz look at spectrogram. Set dwell to 400ms 5.5k samples 16k resolution. Look to find "calibration trace" adjust filtering on rx to suit. 09.38 Switch off sig gen. Hey presto........instant slow CW within a couple of Hertz. Good signal about 10dB above noise. Partially audible in speaker when using DSP 80Hz filter. Try to decode CW but a little puzzled about dot speed. Seems shorter than 10 seconds. Difficult to read message as it appears to be more than a callsign and takes several screens before it repeats. Recheck calibration. Yes 71.85 +/- 2Hz. 10.00 Signal pauses. and then arggggh local noise appears and that's that. 10.50 Local noise goes off. Check calibration, see signal spot on 71.850. Read CW G 0 (hit record button) A K N. Perfect signal O report. Dot length apx. 4 seconds Large .wav file in log. Never did peak the loop on Oxfordshire. Should have plenty of reports with that signal. Well Done. 73 David G0MRF IO91TK
