Though this is a far from optimum system, the signal to noise ratio was poor. At least much worse than my current mini-whip set up. I have a feeling that there is not much to be gained in my location from using an optical feed line. My noise floor is already a few dB worse than on a rf quiet field location and results on chasing NDB's are excellent. All things considering, I will leave it alone and start working on an other project. If any one else on this list should like to experiment with an optical feed line, please contact me off list. I will donate the optical parts (SFH756/757/250/350 and 19 + 1 meter 2.2 mm optical cable) for free. This offer is for someone with a genuine interest. (I once donated a populated mini-whip board and in no time it turned up on Ebay Germany!) 73, Roelof, pa0rdt
