With the old coil, it was about 4 uW. It is presently only 0.4 uW and this will be increased soon, by the grace of Mother Nature. > > Stefan wrote: > >> It could be worth to run a carrier for a day or so. > > No harm to try. This was attemped. The coil survived, but the amp did not. After much mucking about without a schematic, a fried pass transistor was replaced in the preamp. The drive now goes directly to the PA input, bypassing the preamp/reverb/bass/ treble/etc. These were not found to be particularly useful for increasing the aerial current anyway. Today we had a bit of wind. The tower supporting the far end of my prized rotated L is now horizontal. Fortunately this appears to the only casualty of the 95mph gusts. >> Do you already have the necessary signal stability? > > I was wondering that too. It seems OK on Markus' high resolution spectrograms. Would it help if another long carrier on 137.777 was sent? It might help with the west end cobwebs! 73 Joe > > -- > Paul Nicholson > -- > >
