Hi Stefan, the Dst index is a measure of the quanity of charge circulating 
in the Equatorial Ring Current .....the Van Allen Belt.  This "peaked" only 
at mid-day today (Kp=6) when the shocks from previous events arrived. It 
till not be until perhaps tonight or more likely tomorrow night, that the 
full effect of these eleectrons "precipitating" into the ionosphere, and 
diffusing to the D-region at mid-latitudes, that the absorbtion of signals 
at LF will be seen. There is even some belief that signals are enhanced just 
before they dive........I have seen no firm evidence of this.....so it may 
be wishful thinking :-))
