I am not so pesimistic, more exactly, I am a bit more lucky. I am = abt 212=20 km away from RP.
I made a first reception test this Sunday. RP is the strongest = signal on=20 the band but it doesn=92t bother much. Besides it I heard two more = beacons. The=20 band is more spacy and much calmer than 136kHz. Looking forward to the = day it is=20 crowded by HAM sigs.

I read all your comments about new HAM band, they were written in = the last=20 days. To tell the truth, to use this band  will be a problem for me = and all=20 HAMS in our region. There is a Slovak NDB beacon "RP" located right = between 472=20 and 479kHz.
 
CALL : RP
FREQ: 477kHz
Modulation:    +/- 1060Hz side bands
QTH: Malacky/Kuchyna
QRA: JN88NL  
 
My QTH is only 37km far from the "RP". The beacon=B4s signal is=20 constantly  at least +50dB up to noise (in fact +60dB in the = modulation=20 gaps). The carrier is not problem, but the worst thing is the wide = strong noise=20 during the transmission. It is about +25dB - see the picture. I made = sure=20 myself, that it was not a problem of my RX. The situation is the same, = when an=20 attenuator between antenna and RX is used.
 
I hope that "RP" will not be a problem for you as well!
