Look at the Decca amplifier 5501 cct which uses schmitt-triger  to shape =
the sine wave input. i have also used other methods in the past to =
achieve a sq  wave including chips and other transistor and fet =
circuits.=20

The Schmitt-trigger could deform the duty-cycle of the the signal, which =
can be very critical for some kind of PAs :-) I often use a simple OP =
AMP and amplify the signal so that the OP AMP is clipping. Not the =
perfect way maybe but it worked just last weekend where i drove the H =
bridge that way from a low audio signal coming from the PC.
