They normally occur every 11 seconds. The receiver then modulates all signals in the passband, and gives them a set of sidebands 1/11s = 0.09 Hz apart. Switching off AGC and NB will remove the sidebands on the signals completely, but at the cost of an increased background from the original DCF FSK sidebands.
