Thank you Stefan for the report and decodes! Your three-axis receive system appears to be working very well.

It was nice to see the early traces also in 3.8 mHz. In past observations the 180 km path was not favourable around noon. However most of these were later in the season (e.g. April), so one might speculate that lower solar elevation leads to less skywave cancellation.

One of these days I want to produce a deep-red glowing line on your colour-DF, but I guess we're not quite there yet.

All the best,
Markus

Hello Markus,

Thanks for the transmission. A long time ago that i received a ham made VLF signal from the east :-)

E field: carrier S/N: 12.63 dB in 195.3 uHz (no decode).
H field (E-W): carrier S/N: 20.03 dB in 195.3 uHz | carrier Eb/N0: 5.5 dB. An easy decode.
H field (N-S): carrier S/N: 0.97 dB in 195.3 uHz

These results are not trimmed to the peak SNR, i just took the basic filter/blanker settings.
Mixed antenna results take a bit longer...

Interesting, i did not expect that the E field result is so much worse than the H field. But at such high frequencies, the sitation is much different than at < 1 kHz ;-) Certainly the reason is QRN from the south which is nicely canceled out by the loop.
