Hi all,

Beware with the output waveform - my IC 706 MK 2 G produces more "Volts peak peak" on MF than an older IC706 (first model), but on a 50 Ohm dummy load, most of the energy was emitted on harmonics ! From the old 706, it was almost a sinewave, so that's what I usually use as the 'exciter' for a linear MF PA.

Cheers,

HI all

Interesting expt.  I’ve had to wind back the power setting on the IC706mk2g from “4” to “2” so assuming a halving i.e. 3dB.  (this was because the MF RF was making my kids skype and XYL’s netflix run rough!, one wonders who pays the bills round here!!)

So far it seems to have made a -1dB to -2dB change in some more Dx reports while others have not changed or increased even.

I’ll stick with “2” for now.

Cheers
