With that 50.5 uHz spectrum the odds of a false peak is probably one in a few tens of thousands. Perhaps Dex should change frequency a small amount before tonight's transmission. The ERP increase should be clear on Mike Smith's receiver at Forest VA. I restarted the regular Forest spectrum at http://46.4.26.83/sp8820_vlf35.png Mike's receiver is very stable and low noise and uses a fibre optical link for isolation. It also has a first rate GPS timing system. This is the rx for European txs to shoot for. You can listen to it on the vlf35 stream at http://abelian.org/vlf > I could start at 1800 ... I don't think I can use the signal so early in the evening. Signal will be there, but there is so much phase change between 18:00 and 23:00. I should think 22:00 would be a good start time for T/A. No way to predict how the noise will be tonight. Visit http://abelian.org/vlf/fbins.shtml#p=1417536000&b=070&s=fd and step back over a few days to see the variation in south-west noise from one night to another. Its UHF down- link causes some compression but I guess that doesn't show after the sferic blanking. Link noise floor never seems to be a problem. http://abelian.org/vlf/events.php?stream=vlf6 My own 'new' E-field receiver performed dismally last night, but thanks to the signal from Dex I think I know where the problem is now. Maybe I can fix it this evening... -- Paul Nicholson --
