Using the SAQ receiver user preset to listen below > 10 kHz has produced strange results. It seems I am confused with the > filter/injection frequency combination and the red, blue and magenta > diamonds below the RF and audio windows. Oh well, the diamonds - in old versions, they were the only controls on the frequency scale, in fact they were 'freely programmable' to control generator frequencies, frequency shifts, filter bandwidths. In recent versions you don't need them anymore (reasons below) so if they are still visible after loading old configurations, simply turn them off: Double click any of those diamonds, then (on the "Markers" panel) select "hide all markers" and they will be gone. For narrow-band listening, use the filter controls (center frequency, bandwidth, zero beat frequency) on the frequency. These are visible by default in most configurations, for example: Select "Quick Settings"..."Other amateur radio modes"..."Narrow CW filter, adjustable..". How to control the filter (incuding the frequency shift) is explained here: http://www.qsl.net/dl4yhf/speclab/filters.htm#filter_controls_on_main_freq_scale In recent versions (V2.79), most configurations already use these controls but maybe the old 'SAQ Receiver' is not one of them. To listen to 8.2 kHz, just shift the filter's passband (center) to that frequency. It works almost the same way as the web-SDRs.
