Hi Andy,

474.5 kHz is not a good frequency here... two carriers from NDBs, beating with each other.

473.5 kHz, between carrier and modulation sideband of "BIA", is much better and often used as 'alternative frequency' if 472.5 +/- 0.x kHz is occupied.

Good luck,

Hello Wolf,

No, I am not transmitting on MF now.... I’ll start at 1900 TU, in 45 minutes now. If QRM on 472.5, I’ll QSY on 474.5 CW.

Best 73.

Hi Andy,

Someone (or was it yourself?) already sent your callsign on MF, but the signal was too weak here in JO42 to identify what/who it was.

Conditions not too bad, the usual beacons are strong, and even LA1TN was good copy (for a few seconds...) around 17:30 UTC.

Cheers,
  Wolf DL4YHF .

HI all.

I just put up a provisory bad antenna for transmitting on MF. Power be only 10 W out. Estimated ERP around 15 mW.

I’ll be QRV calling some CW CQ on 472.5 this evening.

I hope you can heard my signals from France !

Best 73. Andy. F6CNI

New stations active in France on MF 472 – 479 kHz band.

The French ARCEP administration just gives 3 special individual licences for transmitting on MF 472 -479 khz to the following stations :

  • F4DTL Nicolas
  • F5WK Michel
  • F6CNI Andy.

Modes CW and digital using 1 Watt ERP, for 6 months licence.

F4DTL and F5WK will be active begining this evening on WSPR and JT9.

F6CNI has a problem with his transmitting antenna down in tempest. He is trying to put a provisory poor antenna for first transmission test on CW this evening around 472.5 kHz. His station will be 100 % OK in a few days.

Andy F6CNI.
