WSPR (not the QSO verion) is a fixed message packet which does not change consequently missing data can be re constructed by eye over several periods of reception just like QRSS.

This Capture http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd243/radiotalk/green-led-rev.jpg shows some WSPR coded as Morse in a form you may not be able to read because you have not learned the skill, followed by WSPR which you also most likely can't read because you haven't learned the skill. therefore
if you are not getting a print out of rtty you can read the elements from the waterfall and get the information.

If you want to SEE the code in a waterfall, instead of DECODE it with a SW (or HW),
what is the advantage of the Murray/baudot code compared to CW?
I am confused..

Yes Mauro this is one way to generate 5 unit Murray code or a more basic method is the Mechanical Perferator keyboard.
This is an interesting subject and requires Operator skill like being able to TYPE properly and also be proficient at the Murray code.
Let me know when you are ready to receive a message on your screen in FSK Murray code (slow RTTY)

It is interesting to see who is on the band but NOT a machine uttering gibberish most of the time.
One thing that has been neglected is MURRAY CODE being transmitted like QRSS. It can be sent at various speeds and can be read directly off the screen like DFCW. The Murray code can be learned like MORSE and when used by the GPO years ago the speed to qualify was 15 wpm reading from an undulator tape.
Since it is a ONE level mode and with todays technology can be read directly on a screen it would be a good alternative to DFCW
5 unit Murray Code - start learning - real Radio Operator participation

54 machines listening to each other and not a Real Operator about. This is a good example of Appliance Operator activities. This is not Real Amateur radio, there is no personal touch. Leave your machine unattended and hope for the best when you return from a night out or get up in the morning.
Is the the future for MF??
No, the future is for CW! :-) If CW dies out then the whole amateur radio dies out. It would not take to long then because CW never becomes boring. It is fascinating to experience to listen and to instantly "decode" the dashes and dots. It's like listening to music.
However in digimodes, there always has to be a new mode, each few months. You know that, i know that, we know that. So don't worry!
Anyway, there is no reason not to transmit on a ready to use antenna while beeing outside the shack. This helps to move some interest from HF to MF and to generate newcomers and so on. Also it is interesting to see what is possible and to see who is on the band (or who's PC is on the band if you prefer that).

GE/GM LF/MF :-)
Thanks to all the many MF stations who reported to my WSPR beacon. There were 54 stations since yesterdays evening, attached below.

Just came back from the club meeting where i hold my presentation of the VLF experiments done in 2010/2011. The OMs were very interested and amazed. There was silence during that time i told to them :-) Again big thanks to this group, who is a big part of the Dreamers Band stuff :-)
I didn't find the time to stop the TX here in the shack so i am on air in WSPR since yesterdays evening :-) Guess i'll stop it soon.
