Here in the US a current(!) copy of the NEC (National Electrical Code) is an essential night-stand accoutrement. And ditto on the isolated work-bench/radio supply. Add to that a mondo UPS and a ferro-resonant transformer (of mass rivalling an upright piano). Perhaps the most dodgy thing we radio people do (well, in an electrical sense) is create our own grounds willy-nilly, banging in copper hither and yon.
